Wilson Creek:

Council Members
Position: Mayor
Name: Kathy Bohnet
I grew up in Yakima Washington. I met my Wilson Creek wheat farmer husband
Harvey through friends while I was a student at WSU. We were married in 1960
and I moved to Wilson Creek. I have now lived in the area forty-six years.
We lived for thirty years on our farm north of town. I was
an active farm wife driving a truck or combine during harvest and doing any
thing else that needed doing.
I have served on the school board, in many ag related positions and held many
presbyterian church offices. I have especially enjoyed working with youth both
at the school and the church. I am the mother of four and the grandmother of
seven.
My interests are gardening, reading, history, antiques and travel.
I was elected Mayor in November of 1999. I consider it an honor to serve the
people of Wilson Creek as their Mayor.

Name: Darrel Mordhorst
I was raised on a farm a short distance east of Wilson Creek. I attended school
here in town. After graduating I became the main farm hand and then later the
operator of the home farm. In 1949 I married our neighbor's beautiful daughter,
and we built a home in town. We raised 2 daughters one of which lives near the
old home farm at this time.
I very much enjoy being a part of things that go on in the area. I never
desired to hold any chairmanship or Mayor Position, but just try to be
available to help out. I spent quite a few years on the local school board.
This school has become a very nice modern small school. It has grown from a one
building school, when I attended, to what you may now, almost call a campus.
A few years after I became a town resident I was elected to the town council.
This post, I am still holding. I have seen many changes in the world and in our
area. I stay very interested in the well being of our small town and the
surrounding area. I have seen our dirt streets graveled and also dug up while
redesigning of several water systems. Our previous Mayor also began a street
oiling project, one short area a year, and our ambitious Mayor has acquired
several grants that has finished and restarted an up date on this project. With
the help of her grant writing we have beautified the whole main route through
town. I am very proud to be a part of the administration while these projects
were accomplished.
